is now Cadrex
In December 2022, D&R Machine Company was acquired by Cadrex and is now officially transitioning to the Cadrex brand.
With only one manual lathe, D&R Machine Company was founded in the basement of a Northeast Philadelphia Row home in 1971. Four years later, they moved to their first non-residential building. Throughout the 80s, they acquired new equipment, became SDB certified, and grew to a 17k sq. ft. facility. The 90s introduced barcode scanning and job tracking via an internally engineered MRP system, which led them toward Lean Manufacturing. In the early 2000s, they earned their SAE AS9100B & ISO: 9009:2000 certifications. They expanded to a new 41k sq ft facility in Southampton, PA, where they remain, offering a fleet of nearly 40 CNC machines and specializing in high-complexity CNC milling, CNC turning, and assembly across a range of materials.
